Default Tall rider...looking for seat help

Hey everyone. New here. Just got my first harley this past week. Looking for some help, I have a 2016 fat bob and I am 6’6”. I am looking to see what people might suggest to help give me more legroom and still be nice and comfy. I saw Harley has the tall boy which puts the seat up 2” and back 1.75” so that helps a bit but not sure if is a comfy seat I could do a full day in or not. Also saw the lapera daddy long legs seat as well which says it sits you back 2”. Need all the room I can get. I know a lot of people aren’t fond of the Harley product seats, but it does seem like the tall boy gives you more in that is puts you up 2” and back 1.75” as well, which sounds like almost 4” total of extra space, which sounds amazing.

I will likely also be getting extended forward controls as well for more room as well.

So so looking for input. Thanks in advance.

I'm about the same height, give or take an inch or slumping... I have an older ride 01 fxdl, I have a mustang vintage seat with kuryakyn extended forward controls and am comfortable.

I'm loving my Le Pera Barebones. However, it does start to make things a bit sensitive after about 40 miles.

Wow, no way I could love a seat I can only get 40 miles out of.

I'm not as tall as you, but I do have long legs. Personally, I would start with the forward controls and see where that lands you on the seat; as seating position can also effect handle bar position. Plus there are several threads on here that talk about some who have tried a bunch of seat before finding the right one, which can be expensive and exhaustive. Just my personal opinion.

Yeah I know that foot controls are going to be a definite but also understand that seat and handlebars wI’ll be a factor. I figured if I start with the seat it will set the base for my approach for bars and controls.

Saw some reviews, a little older posts I think, but I know time has passed and there are likely more opinions and possibly more options, so wanted to toss it out there to see.

I tried the tallboy seat on my Dyna and it was not a good fit for me.Found an auto upholsterer that also did sickle seats.Told him where I wanted to be on a stock seat bought on Ebay(saved original).First mock up (with seat cover fitted loosely so he could make adjustments) was far enough back but tilted me forward after taking bike for a ride.He then added to the foam to get me where I needed to be.He made a cover for it.
Nice.

Go controls first, and then bars, then seat.

I have have a 2014 StreetBob with forward controls. Replaced the stock seat with the Le Pera Maverick Daddy Long Legs seat and LOVE it! I now have the ability to sit a little forward, or a little back on the seat which makes longer rides more comfortable.
