Clearly states it in the owners manual if you call it a Kickstand your warranty will be voided immediately.

I thought about it today as well. Perhaps short guys need to kick the stand, but I'm tall enough to just shove it into place. Maybe it's a "shove stand?"

I've read that Harley named it a "Jiffy" stand to differentiate it from other "kick" stands of the day that were difficult to deploy.

Where do you put the kickstand while you're fueling the bike?

I put my gas cap under my "jiffy stand" when I fill my bike with 91 Octane 10% ethanol. Then I check my oil to make sure my synthetic is only 1/2 way up the dip stick.

So at bike nights you all stand around and talk about what the hell its called? Not looking a bikes or cute chicks walking around with or without lots on clothes on?

Whats next, which light beer or non- alcoholic beer is best so you dont gain weight?

I can honestly say I've never been to a bike night.

Me neither. I would like to, but I always miss it by a day or two....

Same as I always want to go to the ski area around here for the weekend Oktoberfest they have every year. So I watch the calender's starting Oct 1.

It is in September.

I don't go because as a rule, I don't like people much. I'm a people watcher but don't like to interact much.

I also try try to be polite unless given a reason not to be. I have met more than a few riders that want to ride together and it's sometimes a chore to convey to them that I have no desire to do so. Best thing for me is to just stay away.

Don't Indian dealerships have them?
