you know, I don't like to brag, but I could write a check for any damn thing I wanted to.

**** course it wouldn't clear, but nothing's stopping me from writing it ****

I remember as a lil guy, going shopping with my Mom and seeing something I wanted. She would tell me no because we couldn't afford it to which I would respond, "Well, just write a check"!

I have bought a couple of cars, bikes on credit because usually there is some kind of incentive, ie, cash back or price deduction, no interest etc. Then when the first payment comes due I pay the note in full. One Harley I bought came with the extended warranty plan if I financed it. So I did then paid it in full.

I put my 2008 FXD on my AMEX. I remember the dealer wanted some cash so I paid a minimal amount, then charged the rest and paid it off with the next statement. There was some kind of AMEX promotion then (double points?) that worked out well for me.

I wish my dealer would take a credit card so I could get the points.

I bought some Heart Worm medicine for my dog and got a prepaid credit card worth $12.00 as a rebate. I took the credit card to the pet store and used it along with some cash to buy rabbit food.

Looking forward to reading even even more shopping adventure stories from y'all.

Same on last bike my buddy bought .............. Watching them count out $28K cash on the finance officers desk was a hoot. Amazing since personal checks can be verified instantly.

OK, so NOW I'm being slightly LESS careful with my money
Ditto except I liked my job but it was still a job. It's amazing what 40 years of working hard and saving money can do for you.
