Hello everyone,

I inherited my Late father bike and don't know much about it but plan on rebuilding if and riding it. What I know is I helped put it together when I was 12 or 13 years old and I am now 34. It was under water due to Hurricane Katrina. It's a 68 or 69 frame with a swing arm. Motor is not sure but has shovelhead top for sure with a S & S super c carb. Right now motor is free and turns over got the valves and tops off and got the pistons freed up. Passed a home in cylinders just to clean up a bit. No rough spots or cuts that I can feel. I plan on doing a ring job and start putting motor back together in about two or three weeks when I get back home from work. Any suggestions would be quite appreciated.

Thanks

Bird Jr

Late father went by Bird.

Hello Bird Jr - welcome aboard to the HDF, from Albuquerque, NM.

Sounds like you're in for some good wrenching - best of luck!

I'd be interested in seeing pics of the bike with all that water damage. For a before and after reference ya know?

Welcome, do you know if the bottom end of the motor has a nose cone or if it has a generator?
