Default To paint or not to paint?

I have a 2004 Fatboy with factory teal and silver paint. I was thinking about getting a paint job, maybe black with some blue flames. Any opinions?, should I keep my Fatboy original or paint it?

Whatever makes you happy is the only thing that matters.

If it were my bike and the paint were in really nice condition, I think that color combo is great.

That said, it's your bike. The fact you're thinking of it means you don't like it.

When in doubt, you can buy a second hand set from eBay or Craigslist and paint that. That way you can still revert to the original paint.

Is what I did when I painted the Xbones.

Your bike, your call.

The T-2 look would be really cool!

I will have to say that IF I was in the market for a used H-D, I'd much prefer to see the original paint (even if it has some light scratches and/or fading) than an after market paint scheme. But that's just me.

Imo it looks nice. Again my opinion, but if you change the paint to dark colors the rims have to go.

Since your bike will never be a collectors item or a bike that is very highly sought after, you should do what ever makes you the happiest.

Looks nice as is. Painting it will make somebody in the future think that it was in a wreck or damaged and lower the resale or trade in value.

Just what the world needs: another black Harley.
Looks great as is, but it's your bike.

Original paint won't help value at all.
