You're kidding, right? Harley started making Sportsters in 1957. In truth, the Sportster was really pretty much the same as the K or KH flathead, with an OHV conversion, so it could be said that it's ancestry goes back to 1952.

My first and only motorcycle I've ever had, 2013 Fatboy Lo. Have no plans of ever getting rid of this bike.

I've had an 86 sportster, 06 springer custom...best looking bikes ever made is anything with a springer, sorry it's not even a competition and a couple of rice burners ranging from late 70's early 80s super bikes to a Hayabusa and while I loved them all while I owned them and like I said the springer was the best looking...I didn't know what I was missing until I got the road king I have now...just head and shoulders above all the rest I've ever had as far as comfort and just being able to ride till I need to get more gas...probably the only thing that would be better is the 2018 road king I'm currently falling in love with...shhh...don't tell the wife or my bike

My '01 Wide Glide, miss that bike! Wife insisted on getting a Electra Glide Classic for her comfort. No complaints about the EGC but still miss the WG.

My 73 Shovel. Built from junk in 79. What fun. Ended up with 72 rear, 75 narrow glide front (a disc brake!), no signals, no gauges except oil temp in tank cap, no horn, toggle switch for HL, one wonky mirror, Bendix carb, kick start, solid lifters, street cam, balanced bottom, and it ran great, handled great and one day in 83 I flat out needed the money and away she went. Still miss it. That bike could tell some stories, lol. Around 60k miles of great ride. Last I heard a few yrs ago the guy that bought it still has it but he restored it. I ain't what I used to be either. I hope that she's well.

Tough one between the EVO hard tail and the 17 Deluxe.
The Deluxe is sweet, but I miss that lumpy idle and sweet sound.
That and the simplicity of the old carbed bike.
But I do love the EFI for daily riding (along with the cruise control).

My 09 SG. It's the fastest, best looking, best riding, best braking, hardest accelerating, and has the best wind protection of ANY HD I've ever owned.

It's also the only HD I've ever owned, so winner by default YMMV
