What Leather Jacket to Buy??

Do you like your Chippewa tall engineers? I have a pair of American-made Red Wing engineers that I love, but they are shorter than what I like for riding.
I have a pair of tall Chippewa harness boots. Pound for pound, they're the best pair of boots I've ever owned.

Can't say enough good things about Fox Creek, they have a 100% no questions ask return policy, so it is very easy to make a long distance purchase. FC will also do some custom work very reasonably priced.

I have a number of Fox Creek products, and every one of them is top notch.
My main jacket is a Classic 1, which I've owned for many years, and will probably live longer than me! I have a couple of their vests, which are as heavy as some full leather jackets I've owned in the past!
They are great to deal with, quick to reply to emails, even quicker if you call them. They can customize any of their products pretty much to your desires. They'll even make you one of their discontinued models if you want.
You really can't go wrong with them.
Cheers!

Old thread I realize, and tons of them about leathers.
I like my FoxCreek. But disappointed the liner has a pissy zipper that fell apart. Not big on liners. Don't use them much, so even ,more of dissappintment. Though in real cold weather the nylon does cut the wind. But I typically layer. Not sure if I even use it every year, so crap.
Dye on my jacket didn't hold. First year faded a great deal. But hey, it makes it look old. Gf same year, is still black. Which says bad dye job.
I can't believe how much they have gone up in price. Way more than inflation. Though it looks like they all have.
Sadly these people drive people to buying pakistani leather. Maybe I am an old fogie, I can't believe normal folks are buying their stuff.
I am looking to pick up another, but dunno.

The Foxcreek I bought 9 years ago for around $3-350 is now $573. The Barney jacket I bought 15 years is now $130. Was somewhere around there then. I like foxcreek, but the liner zipper going to **** bugs me. They put such ***** zippers in. Plus the liner of the jacket itself is ripper. I'd consider another in $300 something range. I am big proponent of American made. But maybe they got to well known. Though Schott or Vanson are expensive too.
So for my main jacket maybe. I wanted to pick up a 2nd non vented

I have a Schott for casual wear and a Hillside Leather horsehide jacket for riding. The Hillside is really good and strong and they installed my armor in it for me. I called them and we talked about what sizes I usually wear, my height and weight and stuff like that. I bought a jacket they thought would fit well and they sent it to me for try on purposes. It did fit well so I sent it back along with all my armor and they put pockets in and sent it back to me. We have a few shops here that sell Roland Sands and I think it looks good but isn't as good quality as my Hillside or Schott jackets. That being said you can't go wrong with Fox Creek either in that regard. I just really wanted horsehide and Hillside had the best deal at the time. My jacket is 2 years old and has about 15,000 miles on it and it's in really good shape with just a little fading near the cuff and it's been through lots of CO sunshine as well as rain, sleet and snow.
