Yeah, very strong legs... the Canaries are semi-active volcanic and, except for the shoreline highways, are steep and switchbacks to get to the high ground. Beautiful, incredible place for a scoot!

Hey, I did the tourist thing a couple of times in Tenerife, hung with the Lager Louts
. Great riding there, especially to that little restaurant at the end of the Island that hangs on the cliff and looks over the mountains down to the water (can't remember the name, but I'm sure you know it.) Can't you just rideand take your chances? It's so small that I'm sure that there can't be many cops.
