You paid for OEM.at a discount. World of difference especially in rubber quality. They probably did not have it on hand. Most people after reading all the post on what to do with it don't lose it.

Just for the record (not that anyone really cares)..... I never lost one. Mine were both rattling all over the place when I got the bike. I made a thread about the front-end chatter:

It turned out to be the gas caps, mainly the left one.
