Keep the styles and shapes..lose some weight..improve suspension..duh- even "I" could do that to my bike and I love it. And I ain't no engineer.

I'm a sportbike guy but I'm not really sure that Harley doesn't know what it is doing. Bike sales are down but they still own the market segment for large bikes. I still think they are making the bike their customers want. Every time they make something different/more sporting they just don't sell. The Cafe Racer, V-Rod based Street Rod, XR1200, etc were all poor sellers. Change or die they say and it might be true but Harley still makes the bikes people want.

Partner with S&S, put in a Knuckle/Pan/Shovel and do classic paint jobs. The classics with modern reliability. Thats something I'd be thinking about taking another loan out for.

If you knew anything about Eric Buell at H-D you would know that he did design the 4 valve heads for the EVO. When he left he wanted to take the design with him and H-D said no. Latter he had them reverse engineered and they were available on the aftermarket. A few Evo owners have them.

It is in many books and articles about Eric, H-D and has been discussed on the Evo forum.
