With the Dyna's gone

And yet every time they deviate from the "Harley mistque" the bike doesn't sell. Look at the FXRT, Sprint, Tour Glide, FXRS-SP, Vrod, etc. Most of the Harley buyers want a Harley in all of its archaic glory.
I can see however, combined Harley/Ducati dealerships IF Harley can sell them to their dealers. That was one of the issues with Buell, the dealers wouldn't participate, they put them in the corner and if someone asked for a Buell they were steered towards a Sportster.

None of those were serious attempts at building a world class sports bike... I'd like to see them build one, just to see if they even can.

Harley Scrambler / Cafe Cruiser
Between the Ducati and the Triumph Scramblers, I lean towards the Ducati but appreciate both in that genre.
This is not to say that I would have jumped on one if it already existed...I'm happy with my ride, but I'd love to see Harley compete in that class. Maybe a Street / Street Rod / Iron883 series with some aesthetic modification would fit the bill?

Uh! In the new line of cruisers is the heads originally designed by Eric Buell for the evo engine and shelved by H-D until they made them for the M8. The monoshock from the Buells and on the Fat Bob the exhaust system from the V Rod and XR1200.
OP just what is not badazz about the 114 Fat Bob? The best performer in all aspects in H-D history.

I think they need to cut a few.
keep the basic street 500 and street rod 750. Dump the base street 750.
Also dump the 883 super low. I'd keep the 1200 sporty custom, give the iron a better motor and keep the 48.
Edit actually looking at the website, I'd probably dump the iron or 48 in favor of the roadster. Forgot about that one. Seems redundant.
Dump the new street bob and whack 1500-2k off the rest of the models in the "soft tail" line. Bring back the wide glide.. cmon man. That's like canceling Christmas.
That would be a good start. There's lots of overlap they don't need.

The V-Rod was a piece of **** when compared to any real performance motorcycle.
It was to long, too low, had too much rake and an absurdly heavy engine/transmission unit.
That thing was to performance motorcycles what the Edsel was to performance cars.
