I had the same bike, for my first Harley, except mine was Luxury Rich Red and Vivid Black, I bought it used with 1200 miles on the clock.

Sweet bike! Mine has about 5500 miles now. Not a single issue. How'd you like yours?

These types of comments spoken as fact drives me insane...

" end of the day, you buy a motorcycle to ride, not look at (because the Dyna looks better, no contest)."

I don't agree with that at all. That is the one and only thing the Sportster does do better than the Dyna in my opinion. And maybe braking.
I put 20k miles on a 2013 Iron 883 and I'm up to 7K on a 2016 Street Bob. The sportster would run circles around the Bob in the twisties all day long, it was like night and day going from the sportster to the dyna in the handling department. It handled so much better than the dyna. I miss it when I ride certain roads.

But, the dyna is no slouch and of course if we're not talking handling, I like everything else about it so much better.

That has to be the best analogy I've ever seen to excuse dropping an outdated article.

I'm easily confused. Are you saying bikes should be bought to ride, look at, or both?

Dyna, because you can't join a 1% club on a Sportster.

Not to gripe, but they don't pay me enough to have a Harley. My first bike was a 1968 Honda CL450 Scrambler in 1993. In 1994-95 I rode a 1972 CB750 all around the country, working odd jobs along the way to pay for gas and groceries. From 1995-2005 (approximately) I rode that same Honda as a motorcycle messenger around L.A. In 1999 I raced a different Honda CL450 in the Elsinore GP off road race, and then 4 more times over the years. Eventually I got a 4 speed 1971 Husqvarna 400 Cross that is much better for riding off road than the Honda, but still not good, and raced that at Catalina in 2010.

So I don't own a Harley, so sue me. I know bikes.
