Bought this 2016 low rider in Aug.2016 glad I did it then!
I bought this bike new in aug. 2016 and installed a 120R motor brand new and sold the 103motor. This bike is hot and runs great and no issues. I am very disappointed in Harley in the 2018 line up and yes it appears their focus is the baggers and road bikes in the 20K + range. Nothing wrong with that however in my humble opinion they have really degraded the bike line up by eliminating the std. low rider and others and the low rider in the soft tail class is down right ugly. They have removed a lot of chrome to which the Harleys are known for that. But to each his own. Love the power... Before the season ended in Oct ,2017 a few bikers were riding on our state road 4 lane divided by a median. Naturally the lead biker was hot rodding and blowing by me as his group followed and they like gave me the "your bike is crap look". Til I pulled along side the lead bike which was hot and we cruised about 40 to 45 and opened them up and I actually felt sorry for him and let off and when he was able to catch me and pulled along side he gave me a smile and a nod ! I wonder what that means ?

I’ve owned Yamaha, Suzuki, 4 Honda, 1 KTM, 9 BMW, Triumph, Ducati and 5 Harley, including the ‘18 Heritage. Three of the Jap bikes were bought used, everything else was new.
The Heritage is objectively the best of the Harley’s from a fit, finish, handling, acceleration and braking perspective.
When you consider mission, I’d put the BMW r1200 GSA slightly ahead. But as an easy to ride, cruiser/sport touring bike, the ‘18 does the trick.
I get that the smoothness, technology and lack of chrome might be off putting to old school devotees, but as a bike and not a lifestyle, the new ones are pretty good.
It’s a difficult thing for harley. How to improve the bikes and attract new buyers and those that aren’t particularily brand loyal, without pissing off those that bleed Harley.
I think they did a pretty good job.
