I happen to love Jeeps. Four of my last 5 vehicles were Jeeps. I have a 2009 Subaru Tribeca now. The AWD is fantastic but I'm not in love with it altogether. It's quirky. The struts and stabilizer bars are clunky (a common problem). I had to replace the rear struts and front stabilizer bar at 40,000 miles, the headlight bulbs burn out ever 6 months (and no one at Subaru can explain why but apparently it's an issue for many Subaru owners) and puddle lights stopped working at 70,000 miles. Also had trouble with the AC. The last two Grand Cherokees I had I got 210,000 and 260,000 trouble free miles out of before I sold them, and I beat the hell out of them because my work at the time required a lot of off road driving....much of it up in the Appalachian mountains. Those Jeeps climbed some very steep terrain up old logging roads, rocks, and through deep mud with ease. Once I'm done with this Subaru I'll go back to a Jeep.
Just reading and listening to anecdotes I have seen love and hate from both sides. I will not use a car off-road anyway. I will, however, drive in the winter weather we get here. The Subaru seems to tick the right boxes for me.

Will I be buying a new bike in 2018? Nope.

I think the CVO Street Glides and the Breakout are sharp looking bikes though. I think they are doing the right thing if the changes made better the performance of the brand. I'm also happy to see the naysayers. That will make for a strong secondary market for the older bikes and keep their value up.

I should have mentioned that maybe the newer models fixed some of the problems I'm having with my 2009. Also, I'm pretty sure the 2010's and up have a better transmission. All an all, mechanically, it's been a good car, and they eat right through the snow. You won't be disappointed in that department.

I'll wait till they 114 in the Street Glide as the base motor. You known it's coming within the next 2 years.

Rode a 2018 Fat Bob & Fat Boy 114 & was very impressed till I saw the price. For that reason alone I be keeping my 2010 Fat Bob.

when did all-wheel-drive become a "requirement" for driving through 1" of snow? any car with a set of Blizzaks on it will be better in snow than an AWD Subaru on s**tty all-season tires.

Really ? I'd go awd on any sort of tire than a 2 wheel drive car with chains. Better power distro is just the start of it.

AWD on any tire might help you get going in winter conditions, but it will not help you steer or stop any better. Winter tires will.

mind-boggling. people will spend thousands more to get AWD on a car instead of $800 on winter tires.
