After seeing the 2018 line-up, Are you going to buy?

I'm not sure why everyone is mad about a change to a more modern suspension ? Both lines the Softail and Dyna were do for an update and it wouldn't have been cost effective to build two new frames for two lines. This is not the old Softail frames they are using it's lighter and stiffer. I say give them a chance take one out for a demo ride and then see if you like it.

Anyhow I was thinking the same thing when I saw the frame.
Reminded me of my Yamaha Vision (I think it was an 82, 1st year either way).
It had the adjustable mono shock under the seat, new technology
I do like some of the aspects of the M8, but then there is stuff I don't like.
But then I like to work on my own bike, the way the M8 bikes are designed (so far) it makes it a pain in the @$$.
My day job is fixing designs some over educated/paid dumb *** got released without any thought to how it would be built or maintained.
I may change my mind after seeing one in person and taking one for a ride, but I doubt it.

I didn't vote, since it's not really fair. There's nothing the MoCo could have announced that would have interested me. They lost me a long time ago.
That said, I think they've gone in a good direction with these new models. They present it as merging the Dyna line in with the Softails, but I see it more as moving both to a much more modern, almost sportbike style monoshock frame. The proof is in the riding, of course, and the new chassis has to deliver. But done correctly, this design has the potential of being far superior to either the old Dyna or Softail frame. They claim it is both stiffer and lighter. We'll see.
Those of us who are enthusiasts of the "old style" HD bikes still have plenty of material to work with. There are endless numbers of bikes already out there. My next bike is being made in my garage, anyway.
