On long rides (8+ hrs) I can't imagine going as a group. Solo, I can do a "Nascar" stop and be back on the road quick. I do ride local with a new club, we visit a different bar/restaurant most Tuesdays, and donate to various charities. The "slinky" effect is a pain on group rides. It helps if the ride leader has a very steady throttle hand, or better yet, uses his cruise control when it's safe to do so.

I do a couple of trips each year with a few trusted friends. Otherwise, I'm always solo. I find I get much more tired traveling with a group than when I ride alone. When I'm alone, I can stop when I need to, not on somebody else's schedule.

95% of the year I ride alone and enjoy the ability to go where I want, most of my buddies live out of state anyway. I live in Florida so Bikeweek and Biketoberfest I have a house full of buddies and we ride in groups and have a blast.

I have always ridden alone. None of my friends ride, and I have zero desire to join a local HOG chapter (or any other club, for that matter).

I ride with a buddy to Colorado, Tenn and Arkansas, but it feels more like a couple of old ladies bickering. I ride alone 95% of the time. Face in the breeze, left or right, country roads, doesn't matter as long as I'm headed in a direction.

Default how many ride alone?

Love riding alone, no constraints sums it up for me. Everyone has a cellphone for trouble...

This. Plus, they want to leave the bar and ride TEN MILES to the next bar. F#ck that, how about 50 or a hundred then a stop...?

i ride alone 99% of the time. Not by choice but by circumstance. Once in a while I get a ride with my old man but for most of my riding I commute in crosstown traffic on my lowrider. I get probably one real long pleasure cruise per week. Texting drivers, bad drivers and anything in between are ALL scary but if riding wasn't my lifeblood I'd have stopped years ago. I have to say I don't mind riding alone but welcome anyone else to ride with me. I took off my 2-up seat years ago and it is still in the box in the attic. In all honesty I'd rather not have anyone else on back as my responsibility. Anyhow the solitude while on the machine is what I enjoy the most. Just my take.

Almost always ride alone and prefer it that way. Groups are just a hassle and nobody seems to be able to coordinate for sh*t. Gets annoying real quick.

Add me to the list of usually riding alone - 99% of the time. Don't have to coordinate with anyone, don't have to slow down from my usual pace (yup, that's the way it usually is for me), stop when I want, etc.
