Default 2002 Sportster cranks but won't start

Been running fine. Haven't been out for a few weeks due to the weather. I had a bank angle switch put in back in June. Ignition module is fairly new. Battery is good. Plugs are good. Only 46 miles since last fill-up so gas is good. I can smell gas like it's flooded out. I wait for a while and it will crank but not start. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

You said you checked the plugs but are you getting spark?

Welcome to the forum.

I'll give that a try. The plugs in there now are fairly new. I put the old ones back in and still a no go. Thanks for the welcome and reply.

Welcome to the forum.
I checked for spark and looks to be none. I did put in some new ones just now...HD brand. Still no spark... possible "spark box" gone bad? Thanks again.

Could be the coil. Check your fuses and relays first though.

I just had a similar problem (literally happened yesterday). Bike quit running mid ride while going 65mph, with no indication of problems. Bike would turn over, but not start. I had a broken fuel pump wire. Apparently the tape I used for the wire tuck wasn't good enough, and the wires vibrating on the frame wore through and it was arching on the tank.

I checked all the fuses...four 15 amp.... good to go. Where are the relays located, how many, how do you check if they are bad?

Check the coil. If that checks out, look at the ignition. My '02 **** the ignition a while back as well.

Coil checks out to be good. I'm gonna take it in and pay thru the nose and have HD fix it.

Another thing I'd check/replace would be the main
Circuit breaker. I don't know where
That's located on a sportster though.

A service manual is cheaper then taking it to HD for service.

I don't remember the relay location off the top of my head.
