Nothing wrong with that, all my scooters have basically been stock. I had a '72 CB500, also an inline 4. I thought that was the best scooter I ever had, until my '85 Magna. That is a V4, shaft drive, liquid cooled. I'm on my second Harley and it is nice, but then I have been into motorcycles most of my life.

Vtwins and inline fours are different but in most ways that matter IMO a motorcycle is a motorcycle.

Very nice! If I needed another bike that would be it right there. No stupid bobbed rear fender, either.....

Regardless of that some said on here the Honda CB1100 does not blow away the Sportster. It has a tame motor but it's very smooth and it has a nice wide power band. It should be a lot of fun to ride. It's also worth noting that is has a limit of 109 mph and it has a stepped rev limiter in gears 1-3. Good thing about the 2014 CB1100 is that they gave it a 6th gear. Seems like it would be a fun bike to ride around town and on short trips. I'd be tempted.

If it were me, I'd buy the Honda. I'd rather been seen riding a Honda than a sporster.
