Harley Davidson 1200 vs Honda cb1100

But getting to 110mph only takes 8 seconds on the Honda.
Top speed is one thing, getting there is something else.
Also an electronically limited 110mph top speed cant compare with old school, no-electronic nanny 750 four. Tune the limit out and the CB1100 is faster top end.

If someone were giving them away and I had a choice, I would take the Honda. My sister has one and I probably ride it more than she does as she lets me take it out all the time when I stop over. It's nice just to be able to switch from a heavy-laden bike to a bike like this that is pretty light-feeling and nimble(and upright). IMO its a perfect compliment to a Harley big twin.

Not sure the comparison is relevant, but I had a Honda Shadow Spirit (1100cc V Twin). I wonder
if the cb1100 uses the same engine, or at least very similar?
The Spirit had decent enough power. It was a nice bike. A friend of mine had a Dyna Wide Glide,
and I thought they were similar in performance.
Personally I'd go with the HD. Nothing wrong with Honda's, but they don't have the soul
of a Harley. Not even close.

My opinion is if OP already has 4-cylinder engine, then he should buy the Harley. If he already has a HD, then he should get the CB1100, then he would have the best of both worlds.

What to do?
You go ride each one first. One of my co workers was recently in the market for a new bike. His two choices he had it down to weread the new Honda rebel or the harley street...he ended up going with the Honda solely for the price. Now he's had it for a whole and want to start the customization process...guess what??? There's very little in the afternoon market available...there are 2 or 3 muffler options and very few other things that can be had. He's regretting not getting the street now.
