Between the two, and at that price, I'd do the CB1100 in a heartbeat.

2 different bikes, 2 different purposes.. I've owned a Sportster as my small bike and a CBR1000. My money, I'd buy the Honda as you already have an HD or better yet, get a Triumph (which I did)..

OP says he has a "touring bike" but doesn't say what brand.
The CB1100 is a nice looking bike but IIRC, it's restricted to 110 MPH which is slower than the original 750 Four. That kills it for me, because a good running 750 Twin will do that.

This...no comparison.

I'd give the most thought to which one fits you better. The Sportster probably has more options for adapting it to fit you; the Honda far less.

All things being equal, I'd vote Honda (and I own two 2017 H-D Touring bikes, so you can't say I'm not committed . . .)

I should say when I was a kid I bought a 1982 Honda nighthawk cb750 and put over 100k on it before my girlfriend made me trade it for a car because she was sick of walking in the winter months, I should have kept the bike and traded her lol I loved that bike and that's how I got interested in this cb1100
