Default Passed the MSF today!

Just wanted to share my success today and let anyone know that if you are thinking about getting into motorcycles but you've never touched a bike before, you should consider the MSF course. The class was great and it gives you an opportunity to learn critical skills on someone else's bike.

Looks like I'll be sitting by my mailbox until I get my card in the mail.

Rock and roll. What bike you planning to get? Lots of people here recommend starting on a beater. A Harley wannabe for $2-3 k or something you don't mind dropping once or twice before moving to the dream bike. It's all in the journey. Keep the rubber side down.

I already bought one about 6 weeks ago and have been doing short commutes to work on it. I've become pretty comfortable on it, but I've been taking my time with it and figured that before I get too crazy I need to take the course and get my endorsement. A little backwards, I know.

I bought a 2015 fat bob - not exactly a beater so I hope my luck doesn't run out.

Congrats! And welcome aboard!

Now that the MSF instructors taught you, and showed you what to do and how to do it, GO PRACTICE!

Because, as we all know, practice makes perfect!

No, really, it's the practice that makes you feel confident in your ability, and it's the practice that makes you relaxed when you're on the bike, and that's when it really starts to get fun.

So go have fun!

Ah yes...mine was December '12 when I passed mine. A red letter day. And a huge weight off my shoulders.

Now the fun starts. Be safe out there.

What is the MSF? Does it prepare you for your cycle endorsement?

Motorcycle Safety Course. And yes it does. I am assuming you aren't just being a smart ***.

Congrats.

Like you, I was a complete novice. I completed the PA motorcycle safety program last month and got my license to ride. I love cruising the roads up here in North central PA.

My son did his at the same time. We both ride new 883s.

Every once in a while find some empty parking lots and get in some figure 8s. Practice makes perfect... as the saying goes
