Leather Vest

RE: Leather Vest
If not too hot use the vest for pistol, patchs and bugs. Doesn't really get much use though. If it'scoldI wear leather coat, if it'shot I wear a t-shirt. Went out the door several times this yearwith the vest on and it never left the garage because of the heat (anything above 75).

Get stung in the tit one time without one and you'll understand. The other reason for leather vests is to keep the oncoming windrush (no windshield) off your diaphragm. This muscle controls your breathing and without wind deflection, you get tired prematurely. Your pectoral muscles are in a relaxed postition while riding, the windrush also tires your arms without the leather. It's not just for show.

The kevlar shirt is really comfortable, it flows air nicely so it stays cool even in the high 80's. I've tried scraping hard against brick, asphalt and concrete and it defininately provides some abrasion protection - hope I never have to find out how much...

I wear a fox creekvest w/a draggin jeans kevlar shirt underneath when I'm running around town, but if I'm on the highways it's full leathers for me.

Not to hijack either, but I'm looking for something light to wear over my jacket to put patches on.
