Default Paint Issue....

So I have one of those HD phone cases with the magnets that stick to your tank. They hold well, and don't come off at high speeds; however....

It stained my clearcoat. If you look at the picture below, you can see the outline of the magnets (four corners) and a yellowish hue. I put a little elbow grease into it yesterday with very mild cleaner (non abrasive), and it helped but I can still see it. Anyone have a similar issue or a recommended cleaner that won't mess up my paint?

It's NEVER a good idea to stick anything on your paint ... I know you know that now ... You might try something like a Swirl and Scratch remover followed by a polish and if successful then apply a coat of was ... Good Luck.

"Was" is Larry's magic secret formula. You put it on, and the mark "was" gone. Larry makes "Was" himself. Sometimes 3-4 times a day. It's good for your complexion too.
It should be used sparingly, because you can go blind if you get it in your eye. If swallowed, induce vomiting.

Now THAT is some funny stuff. Good thing I wasn't drinking water when I read that.

Those magnetic things that "don't scratch the finish" are awful. Sure, they, in and of themselves, don't scratch, but the grit that gets under them at speed with the vibration wreaks havoc on the clear coat. Agree with suggestion to try the swirl/scratch remover followed by was...er wax. If that doesn't work, perhaps a local body/paint shop could buff it out for you. Good luck. OP, if you haven't already, throw that magnetic thing away.
