I feel that! The up side will be that first ride after some time...it really makes that one memorable...mainly for freezing your a$$ off because I don't have the patience to wait 'til after winter

I understand where you are coming from, with a nice looking bike like that, I would hate to have to put it away also.

You have prob. one of the few good reasons for trailering your bike. Put it on a trailer or in a truck bed and take a nice lont winter vacation.
One problem though. I grew up in SoCal and one year went home for two weeks during Christmas. Christmas day, shorts and a T-Shirt. Only problem was that when I came back the remaining winter months seemed to take 3 years and I was then living in S/W MO where spring comes fairly early.
So I guess the real answer is the one I am considering. Move. I live in very flat central IL. I think it's a 200 mile ride in any direction to reach even rolling hills and we also have winter. I sometimes think our state motto shoulld be...Illinois...The Best of Hell! Art

It gets cold here and we get some snow and a lot of rain, but not enough to put the bike away. I just put on warmer clothes. Although, one time we went riding on what was a beautiful, dry winter's day. We were going through the hills at about 55, went around a corner and hit nothing but snow! I guess it was in the shade all the time and had never melted. DAMN! That was scary!!! Luckily we stayed upright. I just let off the gas, and coasted to a stop. The hard part was turning it around and pushing it out of the snow. Now when I go into a corner, in the mountains, during the winter, I slow down a lot so I can see what is on the otherside!!!

My sympathies. It'll happen to plenty of us sooner or later...here in NY, it's been raining continually for over a week. Longest I've gone without riding since last winter! But better rain than snow...

I feel your pain. I'll be in the same situation shortly. However, I'll ride down into the low 40's as long as there is no salt on the ground...

I'm dreading the day I feel its time to put the scoot away myself. Here is the midwest (KC) we can have all the extreme's and changes in weather. I've seen it hit 70 in December and the next week be -10 with snow. I've recently bought chaps, warmer gloves...etc....just so I can extend the season as much as possible. But when the salt and sand comes out to treat the roads....she's done[:'(]....but I am thinking about pulling all the auto's out of the garage and doing circles . One day I'm going to have the time & money to trailer the bike and head south during the winter.
