If you are going to get just one, it only makes sense to me to put it on the right. If it is on the high side of the bike it will be easier to get into. If you are getting it just for the blinge effect, same thing. The high side gets seen more.

I agree with billnourse, if you are doing one tool box, put it on the right side. The chrome teardrop accents the football air cleaner cover on the right, but looks out of place on the left with the horn and primary cover. Also, with the bike on the stand, the right side is far more accessible than the left.

I just got one and put it on the "left " side. Reason being, I think it looks better there. On the right side it sticks out further than anything else there but on the left it is kind of even with the tranny case. I'll attach some photos as soon as I get a battery for my cam.

As for being more accessible on the right, yes it would be, but the only time you will even open it is if you are broke down on the road and I doubt very much if youwill care that you have to reach down a few more inches to open it. So just go with what you think looks best.

I have mine on the left side. Seems to balane the bike out nicely. You have the pipes on the right side need something extra on the left.

I had them on both sides, had to remove my left side when I installed my duals.

I have one on the right... Reasons being (in order of importance to me)

1 - Functionality: It's more accessible. Stuff stays in better on the high side while sitting on the kickstand.
2 - Easier installation with stock exhaust system on my particular bike. (Less 'stuff' to buy)
3- It's the traditional location.

Answer to this question is simple...... left side. It's the only side you can put it on the '07 for a Fatboy.

Here's the link......

http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US

I've been checking that page for the last few months periodically to see if they've come out with a right hand side one. ...... No luck yet. Kind of annoying, the Fatboy's about the only damn softail it won't fit.
