Harley alarm
I am really bummed out about monsterdeluxe getting his Fatty stolen. I didn't get the gap insurance on my Fatty. Is there really an alarm system that works? I park mine in my garage, but when I ride to work I work in a casino and it can get stolen in our garage anytime. What is the best way(if any) to alarm your bike?

RE: Harley alarm
I have the factory audible alarm. The bike will not start unless the key fob is near it. Off course this does not prevent a group of people picking the bike up and throwing it into a pick up truck, but atleast it will make noise and scare the sh@t out of them when they try it.

A friend once told me that a siren can be purchased at Radio Shack that will plug right into the Factory System that did not come with a siren. I never looked into it, so if anyone know this is true I would be interested.

RE: Harley alarm
I've got the older HD Pager & factory alarm. Does anyone know of a way to improve the range of the signal. Stock range is pitiful. On another post someone suggested a new antenna. Sounds simple enough but will that do it? Any other ideas?

If you notice its always the older bikes that get taken. Thieves have learned about the sirens and no start on the newer alarm systems.

if you do a search here on the forum under radio shack, you can find the details on the RS siren. Only bad thing about it is that it is powered by the bike's battery, and if disconnected, the siren doesn't work. the HD siren has a built in back-up battery. the siren will still work even if the bike's battery is disconnected. the installation/location of the HD siren is a bit different for each model of bike, but works the same for all.
