As a welder the welds are typical in appearance to what they should look like in mass production. I would prefer tig for appearance but the stuctualintegrity of the mig welds that are done is plenty strong for the application. Some are better than others. I remember commenting to the sales guy about the crappy weld on the softail unit of a SE on the floor prior to getting my fxstc. Fortunately mine is acceptable on the whole frame.

I'd pay extra for a good tig job , never will see it in production though .

post a pic.....or get an x-ray....but a sloppy weld isn't always a bad weld....Most frame failures I'v seen are from drilling,,,or under rated tubing.....on hardtails

You don't want to TIG your frame. Looks nice, but alot of heat weekens the metal
