Default Battery tender

can I run a battery tender line from the battery and store it behind the oil tank directly under the seat. How hot does that tank get?

A question here, why do you want to stuff it behind the oil tank and under the seat? are you planning on not using it? Or you just hiding the extra wire and leaving the connector available? The oil tank will typically get as warm as the oil, it may soften the insulation to the point of degraded performance when trying to charge the battery. Hope this helps you out.

No the line is coming from the battery which is under the seat so the line obviously has to go behind the oil tank to gain access to the plug in line.

What kind of bike?

I don't think it's going to get hot enough to melt plastic. Best bet is to ride it, check it with an infrared thermometer and see for yourself. My tender cable is in contact with the oil tank but not at a location where heat would accumulate. Never thought twice about it.

Here we go again...

My Breakout is a 2015. It came withe a "pigtail" for a battery tender but it was on the left side. I moved it to right side, since the left side of my bike is against a wall. I'd think your bike has one and it's attached to the frame, just like mine and it's on the left side too.

Do you know what it looks like and what you're looking for?
