Painting your wheels

Painting your wheels
Have any of you ever painted your wheels? I have a really nice, wide 18" Akront rear wheel, which has a lot of oxidation on the spokes and hub. Since I'm not big on cleaning and bigger on riding, I want to do away with this chore and either paint or powder coat the wheel. I'm guessing the paint would probably chip off the wheel pretty quick, but I thought I would ask around and see if any of you guys have tried this.
Thanks for your help!

Definitely go w/ powdercoat. The paint will chip every time a rock hits it and the PC will hold up great, and look better as well. Yes, its more expensive, but it beats having to get it redone.
Make sure you go through someone that knows what they're doing to, so you know they'll do a good job prepping it before PCing it. Hopefully some day allot more of my bike will be PC, cause I am not a big chrome fan, and PC really sets it off.

Thanks for the input fellas......I found a really good deal on powdercoating......$35 for the front wheel, $45 for the rear wheel......and $1.50 for each spoke, plus they'll do the hubs as well. Not to shabby!
