Progressive shock question
It's too late for me to call Progressive. I thought that someone here might know. I just bought the Progressive 944 shocks. I went with the standard being that I weigh 210 and mainly ride one up. In the event that I ride a passenger will it damage the shock? Responses are appreciated.

I have a set or 444's standards on mine, have been on 2 trips, about 350lb both rider and passenger plus travel gear, just wind the tension up to the max, no problems.

I bought the 944HD thinking me (280) and wife (200) would need it. Had a similar sized friend tell me to set it at a slot 2 and forget it. Well, I did that and damn near died riding through a long sweeper. The shock was so stiff that all our oscillating weight was being shoved to the forks and it was a heck of a ride. So... I backed it off and began working with it. At our weight, we need it to be at 1 1/4 slot to make the bike balanced. I still have a little front fork over loading, but I think that is due to the forks not the shocks. I am under the impression that a change to Harley Heavy duty fork oil will solve that problem.
So, on that info, I would think that the standard 944's set in the middle would give you a decent ride even two up. This after finding out the friend who told me slot 2... had the standard 944's.
Set the sag properly and then micro adjustments from there. A 1/4 turn actually is noticeable.
