No clear. I had wondered about that too, but they said the paint they use will hold up just fine. There is a guy on this site that has had his for 5 years and no problems. Dan has been doing it for like 30 some years. It was $150 and took about 30 mins. Some of the pin striped flames he was doing on a bagger was more like $300 and 2 hours. The guy is pretty amazing.
