You got a lot worse problem than wondering why people trailer their bike or not...I'm talking about your 3 hour commute to work.

Personally, I love the people who trailer their nice touring rigs all over the place!

Keeps a steady supply of 3-5yr old low mile garage(trailer?) queens on the second hand market.

EXACTLY what I was thinking! Then again, it's a LONG time to sit in traffic and ponder! I'd be more concerned about the dipwads around me playing with their cell phones!!

I trailer to some events in FL just so I can bring my dogs and they have a nice air conditioned place to stay while we're out riding. Reasons like that. Oh and the biggest reason; I'm 67 years old, retired, not missing any meals, and I don't justify anything I do with anyone but myself.
I like the way you think. I'm "only" 63, and on occasion I trailer a bike to a destination (more than one day away). I don't care what anyone thinks about it.

sounds like you're in a pissing contest. you mentioned your 3 hour commutes, your 350 mile one way tour, and noted that it's not even a long hard ride. you're boasting yourself to the reader before you begin to belittle the main protagonist of your story.

don't compare yourself to others, just work on being a better you.

lol...this part of the OP is what really stands out for me!
3 hours to commute home from work? There is something seriously wrong with that!

re the posers: They're easy to ignore and easier to avoid chit chat with.

it does bother me... but I just hate liars. nothing more or less.

I bike my trailer, I don't trailer my bike. truth is, I don't have the money for all that fancy stuff but I like to bring enough gear to keep us comfortable on the road or in the campground.

Nothing wrong with trailering. A growing number of baby boomers are too old for long rides.
