Coming up on mine. Are they really neccassary?

 

Nope, never heard of anyone doing a 2500. Change the oil/filter before you do the 5k or wait for the 5k to do it.

 

Just change the engine oil. No need for the tranny or primary. That's about all you need to do.. should take you about 30 minutes.

Save your money, or at best get an oil change. You can do it yourself for cheap, or see if the dealer/indy has some sort of special for oil changes only (I've seen them occasionally at the stealer, but never tried it).

The extended service plans at most of the dealerships include a 2500 service.

 

It is my understanding that there isn't a 2500 mile service required for the '07. It is at 1000, 5000, 10,000, 15,000, etc. miles.

 

Do you have a 2006 Springer? Don't know about other years but the 06 Springer has a 500, 2500,5000, 7500, etc. maintance schedule. I don't have one but I remember seeing it in a owners manual.
