I was in NYC last month. Sick homeless people (mental and physical) everywhere, piles of garbage on the street with rats all over. And a covered motorcycle is a problem?

Go West young man.

Ever been to San Francisco? At least the NY homeless have the courtesy to move to the side to sleep. In SF, going down the sidewalk is like navigating a slalom course.

Code 74 - Missing/Improperly displayed plate and written next to that is "covered by tarp". I will fight it again, i am just sick and tired of it. I was not in violation of alternate side parking or anything along those lines. My neighborhood has it on Monday and Tuesday and this was issued Thursday night.

As for parking on the sidewalk, that is not legal and the bike can actually be removed/towed to impound as I have seen many times.

As for removing the plate, same as above, not legal and the bike can be removed/towed to impound. Additionally, as I have also witnessed, officers or agents can look up the VIN and still issue a summons/citation.

You didn't get a parking ticket, you got a ticket because your plate was not visible

+1 post 14.

Make the plate visible it seems is the answer to avoid future tickets.

+2, you could probably do this yourself with the existing cover.

But yeh I would fight the ticket. "If you couldn't see my plate how were you able to give me a ticket?" Real DOT BS at their finest.

I got a ticket once, long story but the spot I was in was legal after 10:00 AM. The d**k actually wrote 9:58 AM on the ticket, thanks.

I contacted Dowco about this, and they have no plans to make a cover like that in the near future. I would hate to have to invest more money in another cover because after almost 20 years someone decides to enforce something occasionally. What really gets me is that the vehicle and traffic law for New York State can be complex, throw in that New York City has other agencies with codes, regulations and other laws. It can be as complicated as the tax code and it is frustrating because the average Joe/Jane cannot be expected to know all of this.

You may try finding a tarp, tent, or awning company that can add the window to your existing cover.
