Default Question about 10,000 mile check up

So I don't want to void my warranty. I'm at 9500 including the 250 I added yesterday (and the office is paying for those miles!). I'm going on a trip soon, and would like to have teh 10,000 mile check up done before hand. How close to 10,000 do I have to get?

I know HD would be ok with 9,900, but does anyone know the exact cut off? It's kind of a pain to schedule work at the local stealer.

PS About 5 miles yesterday was on gravel roads. That's a trip!

I would say somewhere after 9500 miles but before 10500 miles. Just MHO

I don't think it matters if you're within a couple of thousand miles, but if you're going on a trip you should do it before you leave. How's your rear tire looking? You might want to get this changed too if it's getting close to being done. I'm getting my 10k done in two weeks and will be replacing the rear tire.

To my knowledge, there is no exact cutoff involved. I suspect before any voiding of warranty would be called for, one would have to do something that "the reasonable and prudent man" wouldn't do.

The reasonable and prudent man would not ride on a motorcycle I was piloting.

By the way, any good way to eye ball a set of tires to see if they need replacing?

As long as you get the maintenance done it won't matter if done before or after 10,000 miles. The bike shouldn't self destruct at 10,000 miles, the Moco sets them so people have an easier time remembering they have some fluids to change at certain intervals.

Same way you would on a car. You'll always have tread on the sides, but when you start getting low in the middle, it's time to swap em out.
The less tread, the more heat build up, the more likely for it to blow.
