For the exhaust brackets, make a plate that attaches where the passenger footrest bolts go, then take a support down behind/below the muffler to about the axle. My old sporty had a bracket like that, you never noticed it behind the pipes.

I have always wanted an aftermarket company to develop a kit that would allow you to run a bagless King. I would be all over that in a second.\
I like what you've done with your king.
I think painting the side panels black, no matter what color the bike, would make them stand out less...the same way fat women wear black because it is slimming.

The side covers do look too large and the tapered mufflers throw it off some. You could decal/wrap the lower 1/3 of the covers in black and this would have an effect on the lines and visually reduce their size.
Maybe fish tails would be a plus.
There is a company out there that does make direct fit panels for direct replacement of bags. These panels make the RK look like the late model Indian Tour that comes from the factory.
