I love RK's without bags on them.

It looks like a Road King without bags on it. But I've been croaking for some time that Harley should make a standard bike based on the touring platform. You've removed the bags and the highway bars. That's a good start.
Now, take off the mustach bar and maybe the nacelle and replace with standard components.

The rear suspension is what you're stuck with. But overall I like it very much. I want to do something like that too, but I'd rather Harley just make a standard based on the touring platform.

I think the OP did a great job. Love the color and always liked the look of a stripped down FL (usually much older, lol). I have no doubt you'll come up with something to replace those side covers.

The cover panels and the exhaust stick out big time. Looks pretty fugly to me. If you like it, that's all that matter though.

What year is your bike? Is that a factory color combo?

That's a police model. The colors are standard for most years and are available in many combinations.

I'm looking to buy a lightly used RK or RKC. I don't know **** about the touring bikes though. Never had one. Are the fender struts/shock mounts part of the frame or are they bolted onto the frame like the softails?

It looks good but Harley's seat design, going up on the seat...sad. Like a Breakout with ape hangers, it looks better the way it came stock.

I dunno. An RK without bags looks like it's missing something...

The side panels just mess it all up!
