Guys, it looked like rain before I left the house today..so I figured i'd give it another try just for you all. Tried it..got about 3 minutes down the road, and the downpour came. I still hate it. It kept some rain off of me, but not enough that it's worth having the thing on the bike, in my opinion. The trip this time was longer, by the way..about 40 miles or so. I guess a windshield is just not my cup o tea...
Yup, it looks like a windshield is just not your cup of tea.

I purchased one of the short detachable HD windshields for my 1200C last weekend. So far I am happy with it.
I noticed a huge difference when I took the bike up over 50mph. I think the detachable windshield will work great for me, I can detach it for local riding and then stick it back on for roadtrips.
Hear, hear!! I took mine off once, and then after feeling how hard the wind pushed on the front of me, at higher speeds, I put it right back on! I can only imagine how fatigued one could get from a long haul without it.
BTW, I can see over mine without any prob., now on my honeys scoot, I have to either stretch tall to see over it, or squnch down to see through it, big PIMA!! the top is perfectly in my line of sight[:'(].

might I suggest that you could geta shorter version, and try it again?

I may do that LadyGlide, or if I can find someone else who has a detachable which is a bit shorter than mine...or heck, I may try to cut mine down. But I run up ~80-90 mph for around 40-45 minutes regularly without the shield, and haven't had any problems yet..

Haha you must be gearing up yourself to be on "Fear Factor" trying to get used to eating bugs and all.

Put the windshield on my bike and tried it today for the first time, just to try it. I hated it. It didn't keep much wind off of me at all (that's what I figured it would do) and I couldn't really get used to looking over it. Needless to say, as soon as I got back home after my 4 mile trip with it , it was pulled right back off.

I have been riding for many years and on all kinds of bikes. I even did 2.5 years of riding on the autobahn at 145 mph+
I love riding between 1-45mph without windshield.
46+mph windshield

Hah...Vertigo, what is funny is that I was just thinking the other day "Wonder what that bike would look like with a nacelle on it?" I would like to see some better pics, with and without the windshield if you have them. I bet it looks sweet.
Here is without the windshield and the Nacelle on

enjoy

I mostly ride with my windshield on. Just what I'm used to. If I ride without the windshield, I can actually smell more....not body odor, but smell my surroundings.....****, that doesn't sound right either....hell, forget it.

Like your ride, michael. Looks nice.

I think I read somehwere in netiquette that Hi-Jacking of ones own thread was totally acceptable.
