Riding the Mountain to Big Bear Choppers Event this weeknd in So Cal.,I'd say thousands of bikes converging on the mountain town and the cops were out in force.I was following my buddy with a new High compression build that wasn't liking the high elevation much so we were going pretty slow.A CHP passed us heading the opposite direction.Somehow he got turned around and was behind me in no time.He followed us for about a mile then lit me up.He asked if I was running straight pipes.I told him no that they were baffled (V/H Longshots ,TM Baffles) he had me start it up then he blipped the throttle a couple of times.He said he didn't think they were as loud as he originally thought,but wrote for them anyway,while he was at it he threw in the Non DOT helmet for good measure.He told me he could also write me for my altered tailight,but he let me slide on that.As we were on the side of the road I watched bike after bike go by with the same set-up or louder.I realize this a chance I'm taking with my pipes and helmet,but it still seems a little chicken sh*t to me.No complaints about the officer.He was actually a nice guy.I'm sure he was just doing what he was sent up there for.I guess Calif needs to fill the coffers a little to support all the leaches out here.No biggie on the pipes anyway,I've got friends who will sign it off.Thats it,just a mini rant I guess.

by the way - the "helmet snap my neck" comment makes as much sense as saying "I'll never wear a condom because they are only 95% effective - it's safer not to use one!"

I have no problem with your choice to wear on why do you have a problem with my choice not to? Am I hurting you in any way? You tell me you wear a hemet do I attack you for it. If you didn't like my post you didn't have to read it. Your the one started the attack! I happen to believe that whether I wear a helmet or NOT is a choice and I do live in a state that has no helmet law for those of age. The only reason Kansas hasn't come up with the law is because people like me voice our opinion. If you can come up with any reason why I should wear a helmet to protect anyone other than me lets hear it. Other wise stop attacking people for their right to voice their opinion. If you don't like it don't read it!

You're twisting what was written to suit your argument.
If your state has no helmet law, then you might as well stick a cork in it, because you don't have a say in what my state does.

cops are fuc*in useless...they are never there when you need em cuz they are too busy harrassing honest hard working citizens..taxing them for stupid violations.i never called the cops and i never will...when **** goes down i handle it myself...but my wife called 911 because some nut was outside her office yelling he was gonna kill her and had a gun....911 put on hold and the cops response time was 45 MINUTES!!! probably out writing those too loud pipe tickets,or taxing some other hard working, tax paying,citizen for some stupid ticket...useless cowards! now im not saying all cops...but the l.a.p.d for sure...USELESS!!!!!! AND FOR ALL YOU COPS THAT WANT TO FLAME ME....STICK THAT DOUGHNUT IN YOUR MOUTH, SHUT UP AND GO WRITE SOME MORE COWARDLY,BULLSHIT TICKETS...IT WILL MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER!
