Default Which route is better to Sturgis, Wisconsin or Iowa?

Hi, I had such a great time at Daytona this year that I am already making plans for Sturgis. This bike lifestyle has me hooked!

There are two routes that I can take to Stugis (from Chicago), one takes me through Iowa and the other through Wisconsin. Not having gone to Sturgis before, much less on a Harley, I am unsure as to which route would be more scenic and more biker friendly. I guess I could go one way and come back the other way.

Any suggestions?

If it were me, I'd take the Wisconsin route. I-80 from IL to Omaha is the most boring stretch of highway on the planet.

Wisconsin has a lot of very nice back roads, I love riding thru there. Not sure about Iowa, never been.

I-90 from Sioux Falls to Rapid City is the most boring ride I've ever seen. Lincoln, Ne to Murdo, SD is not a ray of sunshine either. Not sure if there's a good way to get anywhere out there. It's either super slab or pig **** alley back roads but the Black Hills are worth the pain in getting there.

Take 20 from Rockford, follow 20 all the way into Nebraska then 385 through the black hills to sturgis......having been doing this route forever....20 through Iowa s pretty good but again its flat, same as every other road to get to Nebraska.

I'd start a little sooner and use the following route.
