Default Front Fork Lower Tubes

I'm only guessing, but are the Lower Fork Tubes made out of Aluminum, and could they be welded on. I have a project in mind that would simplify things if I could weld a couple of tabs on the Tubes themselves. Thanks

Welding aluminum is easy

Welding coated aluminum (PC / chrome / anodizing) - can't be done

My concern is it's some kind of "Pot Aluminum" and finding the correct Welding Rod to do the job will be difficult. I've got guys that are Good at welding Aluminum, I just don't want to ruin a perfectly good part experimenting, know what I mean!!

You should be asking your "guys"

Judging by your username "GeezerGlideGuy", I'm guessing you have a touring bike which have sliders ("Lower Fork Tubes") that are pretty inexpensive to replace if damaged or buy a spare set to experiment on

One thing to keep in mind is that you're going to have to strip the clear that is on the lowers. So factor in time/money to get them chromed, powder coated, or polished.
