I got nothin' against anyone wearing a German style helmet, but to me, they look queer, like one of those joke motorcycle gangs in Any Which Way But Loose or something from the '60's...

I've seen some wearing what looks like a WWll U.S. helmet. In the last episodes of SOA last year "Happy" was wearing one also.

Why would a rebel wear a symbol of a government that wanted TOTAL CONTROL of their citzens and Absolute control of everything else!!!!! Hitlers goal was world donanation and the world was going to be taken by brute force!
so your going to show your resistance to government control by wearing a SYMBOL of the most tryanical brutal freedom stomping total control of everybody government mankind has ever had !!! sorry that just dosnt make sense to anyone who knows their history.
and if it looks better than any of the cheap helmets do, then try coughin up the bucks for a GOOD helmet that sits low on the head.

I believe that returning WWII vets did NOT wear German gear. But American GI issued items like the bomber jackets and boots. It was the children of these WWII vets that started wearing the Swastika and German Helmets in the late 60's and 70's. This was to insight anger, or "**** off" others.

I tend to **** people off with just my comments; I do not need to
act like carrot top with novelty items like **** paraphernalia to **** someone off.

You're right. Sonny Barger in his book "Hell's Angel" offers his recollection of when the wearing of **** uniform regalia and decorations became popular, and which riders it was that popularized it. It certainly wasn't returning vets. As you point out, it was worn to incite outrage among the "squares."
