RE: How do y'all pay for all those extras?
Chuck,
Harley riders are smart people. Smart people usually have more disposable income than dummies. For example, if you are busy riding and cleaning and servicing your Harley, you are probably not:
1. sitting around all day paying several dollars a pop to watch the dumbass movies on cable;
2. sitting in movie theaters that charge you good bucks to help them baby sit the brats;
3. buying songs for a buck apiece that you listen to once more and then forget about on your hard drive;
4. lazing around munching on junk food all day that costs you when you buy it and again when your health goes;
5. taking your wife or date to expensive clubs and restaurants, etc.;
6. paying for the gas to go to those clubs and restaurants, etc.;
7. spending $25 every Sunday to wash the car that takes you to those clubs, restaurants, etc.;
8. buying those billiard tables and exercise machines and all that other crap that people buy because they are bored out of their minds all day;
9. spending big bucks on fancy clothes;
10. spending money to get food poisoning on the cruise ships;
And the list could on and on and on. If you get right down and think about it, your Harley is going to be good for your health, good for your wallet, and good for your marriage. For every dollar you spend on that bike, you save several more on doctor bills, and all the other junk that we buy that we have absolutely no need for after using it once or twice.

After spending some time here and planning to purchase a BT model (and seeing the cost of everything) I was wondering how you all afford to pay $20k for a bike and then put $10-20k extra into it in a fairly short period of time? And what do you do with all the "bling" when its time for a new bike? My wife and I make a good living but I guess we have other priorities first. We pay the bills and for the toys and have cash left over but got have some savings and investments so we can retire someday. Plus I dont believe in running up the credit cards. Just wondering what the "secret" is?
