^^^ My last bike was denim. Harley denim cleaner, or like you stated, window cleaner. I had a stain on the tank till the day that I traded it from fuel getting on it. Soaked it right up, and nothing I tried would remove it.

I will also add, pull off your side covers if you are on a touring bike and blow everything out with compressed air. I forgot about that until I cleaned my SG today. It's like a vacuum in there, and sucks in all kinds of dirt when you are riding.

For cylinder fins, I use a garden hose on the highest pressure setting, hit it with any high quality auto soap and soft brush, rinse, and then hit it with a leaf blower before it dries. Leaf blowers are your friend, followed up with a soft cloth on paint and chrome finishes.

The engine spray they sell at HD works pretty good at keeping the engine black. The overspray wipes off pretty easy too. I bought a brush to agitate when I wash to get the dirt out in between. Then before detailing I use the engine spray.

Optimum No Rinse wash
1in Boars Hair brush
Dry Me Crazy drying towel, pat dry for runs left from leaf blower.
My bike is coated with 22PLE.
Wax is a dust magnet, coatings are a game changer in the detail world

Reversing a shop-vac also works great for drying the bike. Just make sure the canister is nice and clean before you try this.
