Default New fav helmet

Picked up this Gringo S for super cheap. So far I love it. My usuals are the Bell 500 and S and S 3/4. Fits a little more oval, which is what I was looking for. In my younger sportbike days I wore $700 Arais. The Gringo is no Arai, but thats expected, and I got it for $100. Flat red is the color. It matches the pin stripe on my RK. I rode with the shield on today, will remove it for tomorrows ride. Fairly quiet with no vents to buzz or whistle. Long ago I was hooked on high end full face lids, then switched to 3/4 lids. I like this helmet because it feels like a 3/4 with very large eyeport. Maybe those that say they hate fullfaces because of the closed in feeling would like is helmet.

That's me. Full face is claustrophobic with no peripheral vision. I use 3/4 and 1/2. But this looks nice. I does look like it has the feel of a 3/4 helmet.

worth a try.

I like the old school look. Most modern ones make you look like a Storm Trooper in Star Wars.
I too only wear 3/4 open face now. I found the new Bell Riot helmet to be everything I wanted in a lid. https://www.cyclegear.com/gear/bell-riot-helmet

I like that. How easy it removing/reinstalling the shield? Tools required or can it be done roadside?

To each his own. I've tried on FF and modular helmets and I just feel closed in. I'll stick to my 3/4 with a face shield.

Shield removal needs a screwdriver.
Heat seems about the same as my 3/4s. We will see when its 105F.
I went to a MC show and their was a helmet safety guy there. They had 20 or so crashed helmets. So many were scraped in the face area, it got me thinking. This helmet with its large eyeport fits the bill for me. I'm just to good looking to have my face scraped off.
My wife tried it and now she wants one...

I have a Gringo (not the S model) and I love it. I wear my half most of the time, but if I'm planning on a good bit of highway, I wear the Gringo. Very comfortable, and well priced for the quality. I like how open it is, and I like to feel the wind on me, to include my face.
