Default Might be a stupid SERT question, but...

Posted this in the ECM forum as well, but wanted to post here because of higher traffic and the non-technical nature of the question. Mods, please delete if necessary.

Should my SERT have come with additional cables? All I received was a box containing the CD and the SERT interface module. No cables whatsoever. This was purchased from the dealer at the same time that I bought the bike, so it's not an eBay or third party thing.

I'm all set to get things going and realized that I only have half the cables needed. Not sure why I thought that the tuner would plug directly into a serial port somewhere on the bike...dumb, dumb, dumb. So am I short a part or do I need to purchase the cable as well? If do have to buy the cable (I'll be fecking PISSED!!), does anyone have a part number? Thanks for any info!

Yeah, that seems to be the case, which means the dealer shorted me a box. According to this ad/release, the cables should have come with: http://www.motorcycledaily.com/harle...etunerkit.html

Looks like I'll be making a phone call first thing in the AM. [>:]

I bought one for my 06 last July and it came with cables. I understand from reading the Forum that the newer ones are cableless. That sucks, along with not getting a hard copy manual.

WouldBe,
Save yourself the phone call. Starting last year the cables are sold seperately. You need part no. 32108-06. It's $27 +shipping from Zanotti's. A little more from your local guy.

The older SERT's came with cables, about a year ago they stopped includeing the cables. You where not shorted a box, order the cables sepperate.

As for this one on E-Bay the seal has been broken on the module so it could of allready been used and is useless for your bike if it has allready been hooked up to another. I would not buy it.

Will be picking up cables from one of the local stealers this morning and have already drafted a letter I will be sending to some of Harley's marketing and sales officers. Probably won't do any good, but I had to vent. What a load of bulls#*t!
