So I want to remove the existing fuel gauge and just use the speedo for that purpose but when you unplug the fuel gauge itself that also kills the gas reference in the speedo as well. Now there's three wires that run from the fuel gauge. One is red, one is yellow and the third is black. I'm wondering if there's a way to jumper the wires on the fuel gauge harness so the bike thinks the fuel gauge is still plugged in? The plan is to put a flush mount dummy and fuel tank caps in place of the OE. Thanks in advance.
