Michellin Commander 2 tires
#21
Got rid of mine and went with the the American Elite's... Commander Two's had to be removed for odd tread wearing issues, causing major road noise. No not cupping either, they did that as well, but this was actually the lead of the tread grove was wore lower then the rear of the same grove. Hard to explain via words, you would have have to see it. Also think the American Elites handle tar snakes and rain better.

18k and 32k on Commander II's? I've never gotten that kind of mileage out of any motorcycle tire.
The Commander II's I get an average of 8k out of them, and American Elites I've gotten as much as 12k out of them, but that was being extra gentle. Otherwise my average with other motorcycle tires was around 6k. That's with the tire generally being worn past the wear bars. I don't ride aggressively, at least I don't think I do. Well, maybe a little aggressive at times.

Just switched over to Commander II’s
Just completed a 11000 on
Delaminating Dunlop ..
our around the USA trip . As I got the motorcycle ready to ship back to the islands I noticed a something strange with the rear tire. So I had the service dept take a picture of it for record . The rear tire had a total of 14,000 miles on it with the 11000 miles . The last portion of the trip took us through Arizona and Southern California where the air temperatures were averaging around 108 degrees who knows what the road temperatures were for a distance of 520 miles. Unfortunately the center of the thread was at 2/32 which was below what ESP warranty would cover or Dunlop’s tire warranty would cover. I wouldn’t have thought the rear tire would have worn out so quickly along with the delamination.
i’ve run the Commander II’s on my other touring bike with great success, so before the bike was crated up I installed a set of Commander II’s

+1 on performance vs longevity of the tire. New tire compounds are closing in the gap between performance and tire wear. For now, I ride Dunlop.
