Default Ultra falls over

This is embarassing, I have recently purchased a '96 ultra and every once in a while when I stop (nervously) that darn bike will start to lean to left and down she goes., I have checked tires, and have recently owned a BSA and intruder in my life, I am in pretty good shape for 57, 6'- 185lbs. It is always to the left, and I am alone....................maybe I am too frikkin old, thanks

Try reducing your alcohol consumption and get your inner ears checked by a doctor.

also remember at slow speeds, especially if you have the wheel turned, and you hit the front brake, you are definately going down! even quicker if you have a passenger. Practice using the rear brake more at slow speeds. don't ask me how I know!!

There's a noticable difference from my Kawasaki streetbike to my Heritage when it comes to stopping. It took a little practice to get the bike to stop without stalling to one side, somethingIfeltwas ackward and embarassing.

I findthe bike stops straight when usinga combination of back and front brake when rolling to a stop, dropping my left foot first; then my right foot.

Take some timeto practice your stops ona nice, quiet road.

A couple of questions do cometo mind:
- are you wearing boots? reason, I ask is some folks have weak ankles!
- how is your lower body strength, in your legs? sometimes with age, (I'm getting old too, so not to be offended) we get weaker in our legs due to lack of exersise and poor circulation.

If you think that your ankles are shakey get some lace up riding boots or go to Red Wing shoes and get some work boots that lace up with steal toes, heals and inserts. They will help stablize as well as protect.

If your legs are getting weaker, you need to start walking long walks and strengthing them or startswimming. It wouldn't hurt to exersise or play some sports.

Some times just being out of shape even though your not over weight is enough tocause some strength issues.
