Do you have power to the brake light contact at the socket when you apply the brakes?

As far as I know, I do. It's hard to hold the probe and manipulate the brake lever. But when I did , I have power . I'm starting to think that I'm not making contact in the socket due to wear. I'm gonna get a new taillight harness and see if that's the issue. It's a small investment.

The contact in the socket can sometimes get pushed down. Try and pulling it up with a hook tool. Carefully.
